Accessibility Statement

How this website is kept usable for everyone and how to report a barrier.

Last updated
October 24, 2026

We want novixor.org to work for every visitor, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard or a magnifier. This statement explains what Harbourlight Stories has done, which gaps remain and how to report a barrier.

Our commitment

We treat accessibility as part of building and maintaining this website, not as a separate task. Whenever a page is added or the design changes, we check that the content can still be read with a screen reader, used with a keyboard and enlarged in the browser. This statement covers the pages published under novixor.org.

Known limitations

Some pictures are general illustrations with a short alternative text rather than a full description.

What we do

Pages use semantic HTML: headings follow one order, lists are marked up as lists, and link texts stay meaningful out of context. Navigation and main content form separate regions, and the language of each page is declared for screen readers. Images that carry information have alternative texts, decorative ones are marked as such.

Text, links and buttons are shown with a contrast of at least 4.5 to 1 against their background. Sizes are set in relative units, so text can be enlarged in the browser without content being cut off, and links, menus and form fields can be used with the keyboard alone.

Reporting a barrier

If you come across a barrier on this website, or cannot find information you need, please tell us by email at [email protected] or by telephone on (613) 400-6864. It helps to name the page, describe what happened and mention the browser or assistive technology you used; we aim to answer within five working days.

Other ways to reach us

The website is not the only way to get information from Harbourlight Stories. You can call us on (613) 400-6864 during business hours, write to [email protected] or send a letter to 214 Ontario Street, Unit 3, Kingston, ON K7L 2Z1; if a page does not work for you, we can read its content to you by telephone or send it as plain text.

Standards

Our goal is conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. We describe the site as partially conformant, because a few elements still fall short of individual criteria; pages are reviewed regularly and problems are fixed as they are found.

Preparation of this statement

This statement was prepared on October 24, 2026 on the basis of our own review. We checked the main page types with a keyboard, with increased zoom and with a screen reader; no external audit was commissioned. The statement is reviewed once a year and after any major change to the website.
